It’s This Thursday Night!

The annual Christmas parade and fireworks display is this Thursday evening, December 3 in Downtown Altoona.  This popular event has seen thousands downtown the past few years since it was re-started.

This year, there’s a very easy way for you to help the community at the same time!  Bring along non-perishable food items in bags, and Altoona Area football players will collect the food along the parade route.  Food banks are low, I’m told, and this will be a way to help keep supplies up.  The food will be distributed to the five local area food banks.

The parade begins at 6pm.  Come early to get a first-row spot along the route!

Every year I’ve been there the sidewalks have been PACKED! Fun time. Question though — what’s a “Unity Tree”?
