What do you think of this?  A cartoon from 1948… is it as pertinent today as it was then?

This is definitely food for thought.

We are living ISM right now. The glorious STATE has taken-over General Motors and many banks. The Health Care Bill is the first stage of a take-over of that industry. Nikita Khrushchev would be proud. The president and congress are bringing “Change” (Revolution) without firing one shot. Welcome to your taste of ISM.

Oh Henry, I do believe the point is very well directed. We are headed very near to a socialist type of state. This country at this time is neither Capitalism or Socialism/Communism in its true form. People become very complacent about things in general when everything is provided for them. i.e. take a stroll down 6th Avenue and peer in the window at the big screen tv with the house falling down around it. The fundamental difference that pulls me to one side of the political aisle as opposed to the other is this. Conservatives such as myself, for the most part, do not feel that “I know better than you do”. The whole problem with equal income for all is that not everyone contributes equal effort. Why do some people feel that they are entitled to drive that same car, live in the same house, eat the same food, etc…simply for gracing us with their presence. This is the whole concept of Americia ! You are able to go as far as your ambitions take you! Yes, there are some greedy bastards in the world. You will never eradicate evil from this earth. Undoubtly, the reason we are heading down the road we are is from all the “Share the wealth policies” of the Republic-rats. We need to all get away from this line of thinking that this is some kind of game. This is not the Steelers vs. Cowboys, or Penn State vs. Pitt. There are serious consequences for the dismantling of this country that we are doing. Is this mess that “We” have made what we want to leave our children. It most certainly not how it was left to us. I for one, will not allow it to happen. I take ownership here. This is my country as it is yours. Let’s make it great again.
